One of the best trips to explore the ancient cities of Lycia. Our day starts at 9:15 in Kalkan and we are going to visit Xanthos, the first capital of the republic in the world and of the Lycian League. Our professional guide will tell the story of the freedom loving people in this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Xanthos has well-preserved ruins and monumental tombs, among lovely scenery. After exploring Xanthos, a short visit to C.W.A. gives you an opportunity to learn about the history and craftmanship of the famous Turkish carpets.
Visit UNESCO's Heritage site, longest Gorge and longest beach in Turkey
Our next stop is the Saklikent Gorge; the second longest gorge in Europe. Al fresco lunch is served on the river. Trekking through the cool water between the walls or fun rafting can be organised at the gorge.
Our last stop will be Patara beach, which is the longest sandy beach in Europe. You can swim there, relax or explore the ancient settlement at Patara. We will be back in Kalkan at around 17:30.
